Motivation- the sure way to kick out addiction out of your life
The society that we live in today has suddenly become so loose that people no longer have value for their body. Our body is meant to be a thing of pride to us and our nation but many people have turned their body into a dwelling place for all sorts of ‘negative addictions’. This includes: smoking, drunkenness, watching of pornographic films/ movies etc.
A lot of research has been carried out in a bid to find a lasting solution to the issue of addiction. Un most of the research, it has been discovered that the problem of addiction is not what one can do for another.
The desire to quit whatever the problem is has to from within. What people can do for you is to help you with all the encouragement you need to successfully quit that addiction. I have found out that people on a daily basis wish to achieve feet in one area of life or the other, yet they remain where they are. Mere wish is not enough for one to achieve any meaningful height in any endeavour of life.
Desire is the answer to that problem of addiction you are having. The only problem is that ‘desire’ doesn’t just come. Something has to set it in motion; motivation is the bridge between WISH AND DESIRE. For a wish to become a desire, motivation must act as the middle man.
It is the wish of many people to quit smoking, sex, alcohol, child abuse (sexually), marijuana, cocaine, heroine, etc, but the desire of few to get result. The little difference that makes the great difference between these sets of people is that one set is motivated and the other is not. My advice is that you get motivated today so that you can quit that BAD HABIT of yours. - Create a mental picture of the kind of”BAD HABIT” free life you want to live. What this will do for you is to help you see yourself already enjoying the benefits that are associated with leading an addiction free life. Once this is done, you will be surprise at the amount of motivation that you will get from this singular act of yours.
- See your fight against addiction as a battle that must be won. When the battle is won, the crown of victory will be given to your loved ones- yourself included, or don’t you love yourself? Wouldn’t you be happy to give a gift to your loved ones? If yes is your answer, then that responsible and fulfilled live you will be leading after attaining a drug free life is the ultimate gift you can give to your loved ones.
- Promote the negative effects of addiction. I want to believe that you are in agreement with me that addiction goes with negative side effect. If true, why don’t you make yourself a town crier speaking about the effect of addiction. By so doing, you will unconsciously motivate yourself into believing that you don’t deserve to be a victim of what you preach against.
