Does it fit you?

There is this tailor in my neighbourhood who inherited sewing equipment from his late father. The father was known for good jobs. This made people to easily transfer the trust they had for the father to this young man – my-self included. The guy is also good.

A friend of mine was preparing for his wedding and asked me to take him to any tailor that sews very well. Being that this guy and his father has been so good that Companies even trust him with their work; I took my friend to him.

Two days later, my friend and I went back to this tailors’ office and was pleased by the sight of the suit neatly hung on a statue. It was so good on the statue that we forget to test the suit to see if it actually fit my friend. I know by now you should be able to guess what happened on the wedding day- the suit did not fit my friend.

A lot of people live their life this way. They say because Mr. / Mrs. A did t this and succeed at it, I will do it and succeed without carrying out their due diligence. Things don’t work that way. An unpublished research work carried out by my friend showed that over 90% of people living on this planet earth today are living a false life trying to imitate other people. Remember that imitation is limitation. My friend made a costly assumption by assuming that the suit will fit him just because it fits the image (statue). We totally forgot that he is not of the same stature with the image.

My dear very good friend, I want you to ask your self this question today; DOES IT FIT ME? Will doing bad just because everyone is doing it fit me? Am I created to be an Accountant, a Lawyer, a Doctor, a Programmer, a Banker etc or am I trying to force myself into one of these profession just because others are doing it and making money from it? Always ask useful questions before you act.

To your success as you try to be yourself!
